Ik ben Dieks Scholten, 21 jaar. Ik ben een tweedejaars masterstudent aan École Polytechnique, Institut Polytechnique de Paris. Ik volg de master Master Parisien de Recherche en Informatique (MPRI), de onderzoeksmaster in theoretische informatica van Parijs. Het is een samenwerking van verschillende universiteiten in Parijs om een breed vakkenpakket te verzorgen in theoretische informatica, met een focus op onderzoek.

Mijn interesse ligt vooral in algoritmes, met probabilistische algoritmes in het bijzonder. In mijn eerste jaar heb ik een onderzoeksstage gelopen bij het informaticalab van École Polytechnique: LIX. Daar heb ik onderzoek gedaan naar Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithms. Tijdens mijn bachelor aan de Radboud Universiteit (Nijmegen) heb ik ook onderzoek gedaan naar Quantum Computing. Voor beide onderzoeken zijn we nog druk bezig met het publiceren van de resultaten.

I am Dieks Scholten, 21 years old. I am a second-year master’s student at École Polytechnique, Institut Polytechnique de Paris. I’m enrolled in the master’s programme Master Parisien de Recherche en Informatique (MPRI), the Parisian research master’s in theoretical computer science. This programme is a collaboration between multiple universities in Paris, offering a broad range of courses in theoretical computer science, with a focus on research.

My interests lie predominantly in algorithms, and probabilistic algorithms in particular. In my first year, I did a research internship at École Polytechnique’s computer science lab, LIX, where I worked on Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithms. During my bachelor’s at Radboud University (Nijmegen, Netherlands), I also did research in Quantum Computing. Both projects are still in the process of being published.
