Ik ben Dieks Scholten, 21 jaar. Ik ben een eerstejaars masterstudent aan het Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris). Ik volg de master Master Parisien de Recherche en Informatique (MPRI), de onderzoeksmaster in informatica van Parijs. Het is een samenwerking van verschillende universiteiten in Parijs om een breed vakkenpakket te verzorgen in theoretische informatica, met een focus op onderzoek.

In mijn eerste jaar heb ik mijn vakken gevolgd aan École Polytechnique, waar ik nu een onderzoeksstage doe bij het informatica lab LIX. Ik interesseer mij in algoritmes en dan met name wanneer de oplossing een niet-standaard aanpak vereist. Op het moment doe ik onderzoek in Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithms, maar ik heb recent ook onderzoek in Quantum Computing gedaan waar we nu nog bezig zijn met het publiceren van de resultaten. In de toekomst wil ik promoveren in theoretische informatica.

I am Dieks Scholten, 21 years old. I am a first-year master’s student at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris). I’m enrolled in the master’s programme Master Parisien de Recherche en Informatique (MPRI), the Parisian research master’s in Computer Science. This programme is a collaboration between multiple universities in Paris, offering a broad range of courses in theoretical Computer Science, with a focus on research.

In my first year I took my courses at École Polytechnique, where I am currently doing a research internship at their computer science lab LIX. I’m intrigued by algorthmics, specifically problems which require non-conventional approaches to solve. Currently, I am doing research in Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithms. Recently, I also conducted research in Quantum Computing the results of which we are currently preparing for publication. In the future, I want to obtain a PhD in theoretical computer science.
